8. Marquis Moon - Television

Nominally punk, this 10-minute song is included by PF500 because of the theoretically really cool jam that dominates the second half of the song, to which I have to say "ummm... no."

I mean, it's not bad. If I had some drugs, I could get into it, I'm sure.

At the end of the day, it's a jam song from a PUNK band. And the first 4 minutes, before the jam takes off, aren't doing the song any favors.

Rating: 42.

OK with it: nada

  3. You know a year ago when I first heard this song I wasn't that impressed even though I had found it suggested as one of the best songs ever on many forums. After I accidentally put it on a playlist that I listened to all the time, I found that the songs I had really liked before were starting to become worn out while I liked this song more every time I heard it. Though I'm still not hooray-ing the instrumental break, I would have to say give this song another chance. It may grow on you.

  4. yeah, give it more time.
    For your own good.
Eventually you will just be sitting back DYING to hear that tinkling release as the structure builds and builds. This song is the real deal. Give it at least 5 listens before you decide it is not your thing.
Remember, they are punk because they are a DIY bunch who played straight ahead and against the grain with drugged out lyrics (at CBGB before the sex pistols were a band). They do not sound like the Ramones, or really anybody else. You should try "Friction" from the Marquee Moon album if you need a more upbeat view of their amazing dynamic.
